The Perfect NYE Outfit

I’m a big fan of sequins. So when the holidays come around every year, it’s only natural for me to lose my shit. There are sequins everywhere. I rarely party, but the clothes I tend to gravitate towards tell a completely different story. If it were up to them, they’d say I’m the party girl of the year. So I decided to share with you my thoughts on the perfect New Year’s Eve outfit. AAAND …… you guessed it …… it has sequins.

The dress I’m wearing is actually an old dress, but it’s really wearable, even before someone says “party”. I was also happy to learn that Ambience Mall’s “Luxe Bridge” store now carries Marc Jacobs accessories – including now bags and sunglasses. I went ahead and picked out a Marc Jacobs bag, which if you look at my outfit photo, looks like it was made for the dress I’m wearing. They both look so good together!

I did this quick shot when I went to Prateeq’s place yesterday to catch some wine and Netflix. “Some” wine turned into 2 bottles of wine (full disclosure – more people drank it) and we proceeded to play some game called “Psych” on our smartphones, just like millennials do. Like the Millennials. But it’s been fun.

I stopped making New Year’s resolutions years ago, because you can do that any day of the year. But I always make a little list of what I’ll have next year – as a spiritual statement to myself (so I’ll subconsciously work toward it). I think it’s important to focus on what you want to have, not what you want to avoid – and to value the positives over the negatives. This is my mental image of where I want to go in the new year, it works for me more or less, I obviously won’t put “Aston Martin” on my list because it doesn’t matter to me – UBER is great, thanks! 🙂 .

On New Year’s Eve, I’ll be home with my mom, dad and Nena to play Ludo, eat more than needed, gorge on candy, wine, and open this new card game I recently bought – Exploding Kittens. Have you heard of it? Apparently it’s supposed to be a hit.

Anyway! I hope each of you have a wonderful New Year and enter 2018 with a fresh mind, body and soul. Always make time for yourself, work will always be back, and spend time with your family because no one knows how much time you have left with them. Hold your loved ones close, tell them you love them and smile.
