Mandap PopUp

Over this weekend, I visited the Mandap Popup 3.0 at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in New Delhi for the first time. a display case specifically designed for Mandap sounded like an exciting concept. Mandap is a separate platform area temporarily set up at Indian weddings dedicated to weddings and other related ceremonies. It usually has a sacred fire burning in the center and the bride and groom and their families sit around it for the ceremony.

Now there are a lot of exhibitions happening at other weddings to buy clothes, jewelry, etc., but this was the first place I knew you could go to explore different types of Mandap designs and I knew it would be a very nice setup because Mandaps are usually very ornate! I was right! I felt like an excited monkey, jumping from one Mandap to another to click photos. There are some lovely, sophisticated Mandaps that are not only traditional, but some that are designed for the modern chic bride and groom. I especially like the few that have a forest/jungle theme with lots of greenery and tropical flair. I’ll share a few photos with you below. I hope you like them!
