Daniel Lee is Burberry’s new Chief Creative Officer

The rumors are true! Riccardo Tisci leaves, Daniel Lee takes over at Burberry. The brand announced today that Lee will join them on Monday 3 October 2003 as chief creative officer, succeeding Tisci, who presented his final collection earlier this week. From 2018 to 2021, Daniel served as Bottega Veneta’s creative director, helping revive the Italian luxury house. He joined Celine in 2012, where he was design director of ready-to-wear and has worked at Maison Margiela, Balenciaga and Donna Karan. His first collection will be presented during London Fashion Week in February 2023.

In a statement from Burberry, the brand announced Tisci’s decision to step down after nearly five years. “Burberry is a very special place, with a magical past and a promising future,” Tisci said. “The chapter I was asked to write in its long-running story is one I’m very proud of, and I’ve decided to culminate in Monday’s show. I thrive on continuing a tradition of innovation and have always championed creativity and diversity, In order to always keep Burberry moving forward. I would like to thank my team, past and present, and the army of collaborators and friends who have helped me write new chapters that I hope will live on in Burberry’s future.”
