RYAN GOSLING AND MARGOT ROBBIE WILL BE KEN AND BARBIE IN GRETA GERWIG’S FILM

If the first image of Margot Robbie as Barbie driving the pink car had us going crazy, the picture of Ryan Gosling as platinum Ken literally sent us into orbit. Warner Bros. strategy is correct, small crumbs here and there diluted in time because indeed the Barbie movie is still more than a year away, scheduled for release in July 2023, at least in U.S. theaters.

If the bright colors and the theme of this live action movie might make you think of something dedicated to an extremely young audience, you will have to think again because it is directed by Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Lady Bird) and the cast includes names such as Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Issa Rae, Michael Cera and Will Ferrell.

On social media, the reception for Margot Robbie was by popular acclaim; never was the choice more apt. The same treatment was not reserved for handsome Ryan, accused of being too blond compared to Ken’s doll. Fortunately, the Canadian actor has a strong core of fans who support him no matter what, but we are sure that upon the film’s release-thanks to Gerwig’s hand-even the most skeptical will reconsider.
