What To Wear For Spring: The Best Spring Outfits This Season

A new season means new clothes, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. But what do you do when the mornings are cold and the days are hot …… and the nights are cold? The trick to putting together a stylish spring outfit is to start with chic basics and then update your style for the season. Here are our top style tips on what to wear for spring.

The best basics to wear for spring
The key to having the perfect spring outfit starts with a good spring foundation. If you have a solid closet of must-haves, you can easily mix and match. They will also provide stylish spring outfits that you can add accessories to. Here are some of the sections you should start with.

Elevated T-shirts. For a piece that easily captures a cool look, look for a t-shirt made from a fabric like neoprene or cashmere that will bring an extra touch of class to your look.
Light jackets. A lightweight jacket is the ideal addition to your spring look on chilly mornings and evenings. Trench coats are also a classic, but now aviator jackets and denim jackets are also popular for spring.
Easy dresses. Dresses are an all-in-one spring outfit. Look for a relaxed but chic silhouette, and all you have to do is throw it on in the morning and go.
The nine-quarter pant. Once an office classic and now a casual must-have, the nine-quarter pant looks relaxed, but also fits well. Ideally, you’ll want a pair that sits at least mid-waist and is cut just above the ankle. Our favorite spring tip: You can wear them with heels and flats.
The perfect white coach. Think cool for the weekend, not sneakers. Favored by fashion workers for their off-duty cool, white sneakers add a minimalist touch to spring outfits. Look for leather or sturdy canvas with a slim silhouette and clean details.
How to adapt your outfit from winter to spring
You may be so used to wearing thick coats that you don’t know how to handle the warmer weather. Read how we updated our spring outfits with winter staples at

Wear a silk scarf instead of a chunky knit. Choose a bright, colorful lace-up to tie around your neck, wrist or bag for a fun spring accessory.
Try a cotton sweater instead of wool. Not only will it be more comfortable, but if it gets warm, you can always channel the collegiate style and tie it around your shoulders for a relaxed spring look.
Wear suede or denim jackets instead of faux fur. These closet classics are not only the perfect cover-up for spring weather, they add an instant edge to any outfit.
Swap out a turtleneck sweater for a button-down shirt. Swap out your winter favorites for pieces that are just as crisp and bright, but more appropriate for the season. We love wearing boyfriend-style shirts with jeans or seven-pants and red lipstick.
Best Spring Outfit Ideas of the Season
For spring 2017, it’s all about mixing and matching trends and breaking the rules to find something that works for you. Here are some of our favorite outfit combinations.

Sweaters and mid-length skirts. Sweater weather isn’t over yet, so don’t pack your knits; but instead of pairing them with jeans, try a mid-length skirt. The polished silhouette will make your outfit look a little more elegant; complete the outfit with heels and you’re good to go.
Nine-point jeans and mules. This is the perfect partner for the thoughtful lady. The nine-quarter jeans show off your ankles, while the elegant mules make the whole outfit look even more elegant. Perfect for a night out.
Denim on denim. This combination used to be strictly forbidden, but like we said before, the rules are outdated. We like to wear a denim button-down shirt with vintage denim flares and a leather jacket to break it up.
Strapless tops and jeans. See the trend here? It’s all about dressing up our favorite off-duty pieces with something a little more ladylike, and a feminine off-the-shoulder top is a great way to make jeans more sophisticated.
What are you going to wear for spring? We’d love to know if you have your own spring must-haves or how you’re updating old clothes for the season.
